Eis for environments, protected. Ais for awakened points of view. Ris for the rescue of our parent. Tis teaching all to love Her, too. His the Heaven or Hell they will inherit.
For all She gives us, it’s the least that we can do.
About dragonkatet Regarding the blog name, Dragon’s Dreams~ The name comes from my love-affairs with both Dragons and Dreams (capital Ds). It’s another extension of who I am, a facet for expression; a place and way to reach other like-minded, creative individuals. I post a lot of poetry and images that fascinate or move me, because that’s my favorite way to view the world. Corina, this is a wonderful piece. Would you give us some info on the illustration. What materials and so for? Lovely and memorable. The colors are perfect as is the sentiment.
Amazing illustration and the words proclaim the truth and only the truth. The least we can do is love her.. our heaven or our hell- we must decide. A post definitely worth pondering upon, Corina. Thank you for this.
Thanks, all, for reading and commenting. 🙂 The illustration was done using different layers and colorization and effects filter tools in GIMP 2.8. It’s a freeware, open-source software very comparable to Photoshop, but without the hundreds of dollars price-tag. There are a few things that GIMP can’t do, but for most things, I have found it just as good as Photoshop. I’m no expert at using it, but there are a lot of good tutorials on Youtube, so that a person can become relatively proficient with it, even with no prior digital editing/manipulation software experience.
Probably the most time-consuming part of creating the above image (which is actually a collage of several, separate images which have been cropped, changed, colorized, etc.) was finding the right images. It’s important to NOT use copy-righted pictures (for legal but also moral reasons), so sometimes finding just the right image can be tricky. There are many sites that one can use, some of them are pay sites where you get credits and then those credits are used to “purchase” royalty-free images which you then download. Some of them are creative-commons and free use, or free use with attribution. All sites are different and have different rules, but here are a few for those bloggers looking for good images for their (usually non-commercial, but not always) blogs:
You can sift through images on Deviantart.com but you have to be careful about which ones you use. Some people allow free use, some require attribution and some don't.
One of the biggest photo sites is Photobucket.com, BUT I don't recommend using that site if you can help it, mainly because anyone can put anything up on Photobucket and not give credit, so if someone has uploaded a copy-righted image without credit and you use it, you can be held liable by the owner.
