this ain’t no foreign war…

this ain't no foreign war

boots
heels strike hard
against city streets
beneath their weight
lies the blood
of children
caught in the crossfire
of human greed
boots
heels strike hard
chiraq to la
gang border wars
death’s small bags
sold and bought
this is civil war
where are our troops
boots
heels strike hard
spin doctors’ barrage
has replaced truth
all is well
ask the dead
but they have no voice
so listen to me
boots
heels strike hard
against your eardrums
the dead call out
this is war
and we are
losing the battle
to save children’s lives

  1. “spin doctor’s barrage has replaced truth”… I ask simple questions about Syria, “What would an air strike be aimed at? More civilians would undoubtedly be hit and die, which is what I thought we were trying to discourage…”, and my partner shakes his head. “You don’t get it. It’s not about modeling behavior any more…” Good God. What is it about? Not truth. Not any more. Not for a long time.

I remember when I left for war. I father a Korean and Vietnam Vet had tears in his eyes when I left for war. I pray I won’t have to take my children or Grandchild to the airport to fight in war. One planet and one people. We must work together. One light of life could be the saint that could of saved us from ourselves. A powerful blog. Thank you.
