Running awayβa spoon
dishes carbon clouds,
the moon turns red
with embarrassment,
mad cows’ disease
spinning the earth.
Heat waves a non-political hand
parading toward melting ice
while crowds ignore climate
changing its clothes on the float.
Ring around the rosyβ
burnt skin of us all,
atmosphere spun-
cottonΒ strings
evaporating into
space, the final
funerary fear.

Love the word plays in this. π The image of the sun at the end is breathtaking! “Ashes, ashes, we ALL fall down”?
